Kings of Kinematics

As pioneers of IMU-based motion capture, we are well-aware how essential it is to start with accurate measurements of the subject's or performer's skeleton.

Use of correct skeletal parameters is essential to collection of accurate motion data. Any discrepancies between a performers skeletal measurements and the resultant virtual skeleton, can cause undesirable loss of positional fidelity, (as shown in the illustration.)

Automated Skeleton Creation

Synertial is the only company that offers a fully-automated skeleton parameter extraction system.
Our system eliminates the difficult, time-consuming pre-production work of measuring actors and creating configuration files. Our skeleton extraction process is done within minutes, assuring our users of exact and repeatable results.

One skeleton-size doesn't fit all

All other inertial systems jumble the human factors into a single basket; essentially, using some variation of the same skeleton settings to represent the body of anyone wearing their suits. Our tools make it easy to create a custom file for each actor, saving time by eliminating pre- and post-production work. As a result, our users can focus on producing the most accurate data quickly. Synertial's KINEXACT™ automated skeleton parameter extraction systems delivers precise, repeatable results for body, hands and fingers.

Kinematics Guide

Synertial’s Kinematics Guide is an easy-to-use interactive software to help you understand:

  • Correct sensor placements

  • Skeleton configuration

  • Motion capture segments

The automated results from KINEXACT can be edited, to create arbitrary skeleton files, for non-human characters. Our SynDash Skeleton Editor software allows fine tuning the orientation and size of our skeletons. It also supports assigning sensors to particular limbs, and interpolation for bones that have no sensors attached.

Automated results From KINEXACT can be edited, or arbitrary skeleton file can be created to turn your performer into aliens or other non-human characters. SynDash Skeleton Editor facilitiates fine tuning of bone orientation and size.

Unique Skeletons

The SynDash™ Editor also makes it easy build arbitrary skeletons, (such as an octopus,) from scratch. We include plenty of examples of unique skeletons, something the IGS Cobra is designed to handle with ease.
